Alan F. "Bud" English, 87, New Berlin

Alan Fred "Bud" English, 87, of 612 Market St., since 1988, and a resident of New Berlin since 1948, entered into rest at 3:30 a.m., Saturday, October 3, 2009, at Riverwoods, Lewisburg.

He was born May 24, 1922 in Sunbury, a son of the late Alan F. English and Blanche (Mengel) Warren. On October 17, 1948, he married the former Arlene Weaver, who survives.

Bud was a 1940 graduate of Sunbury High School, and attended Bucknell University.

He honorably served in the U.S. Army Air Force.

Bud was a self-employed Truck Driver.

He was a member of the Loose Ties Railroad Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife of nearly 61 years, are one son and daughter-in-law, Alan F., Jr. and Carol M. English of Germantown, MD; one daughter and son-in-law, Sally E. and John H. Riester of Cincinnati, OH; one brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Shirlee English of Montoursville; and three grandchildren, Jessica Riester, Michael English, and Matthew English.

Visitors may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. with Rev. Andrew S. Fitch, officiating.

Burial will be conducted privately at the New Berlin Cemetery.
