Anita M. Shemory, 79, Mifflinburg

Anita Mary Shemory, 79, of 653 Penns Creek Rd., for the past 44 years, entered into rest at 5:51 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

She was born July 13, 1933, in Ithaca, New York, a daughter of the late Charles and Cecilia (Fish) Benson. On August 6, 1954, in Centre County, she married Freeman E. Shemory, who survives.

Anita was active in the sewing circle and secret sister dinners at the Millmont Mennonite Church.

She enjoyed quilting, flowers, reading her bible, and praying everyday. Anita especially enjoyed family gatherings.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 58 years, are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Rodney E. and Linda Shemory of Wilkes-Barre, Gerald M. Shemory of Selinsgrove, and Vincent P. and Rose Shemory of Mifflinburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Crystal C. Shemory of Sunbury, and Dimond V. and Ronnie Kolc of Wilkes-Barre; one sister, Flora Espy of Ithaca, NY; 25 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Freeman C. Shemory, and Keith A. Shemory; one brother, Donald Benson; three sisters, Phyllis Fox, Margaret Fox, and Alice Jenson.

Family and friends are welcome from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, at the Millmont Mennonite Church, Millmont Rd., where the funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m., with ministers Mark Weaver, Nate Reiff, and David Swartzentruber, officiating.

Burial will be in the Hartleton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Freeman E. Shemory, 653 Penns Creek Rd., Mifflinburg, PA 17844.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
