Anna Hartman

Anna Ellen Hartman, 90, of Mifflinburg, passed away at 9:02 p.m., Thursday, June 11, 2020, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.

She was born May 5, 1930 in Milton, a daughter of the late Franklin and Estella (Finsterbush) Maxfield.  On November 14, 1946, she married Ralph J. Hartman, who preceded her in death November 16, 2001.  They were married for 55 years.

Anna was a member of the Buffalo Valley United Methodist Church.

Anna was employed as a French binder at the Milton Shoe Factory, and worked in the dietary department at the Laurelton Center.

She was a member of the Mifflinburg Club 39.

Anna enjoyed traveling to states such as Hawaii, Alaska, Florida, and Branson, Missouri to name a few.  She traveled on many cruises.

She enjoyed quilting and hosted a quilting group at her farm for several years.  Anna was very competitive and enjoyed playing dominoes and cards with her sisters.

Anna was mostly known by everyone as “Gram”.  She loved people and welcomed them in her home; there were never too many people around.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Joann Hartman, Daniel and Virginia Hartman, and Richard and Dawn Hartman, all of Mifflinburg; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Alice and Merrill Reitenbach, Susan Hartman, Janet and Michael Snyder, Peggy and Jerry Shields, and Lisa Hartman, all of Mifflinburg; one son-in-law, Carson Shrawder, Sr. of Mifflinburg; two daughters-in-law, Linda Hartman of New Columbia and Janet Hartman of Mifflinburg; two sisters, Helen Troxell and Alma Foster; one brother, Miles Maxfield; 21 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Donald and Roger Hartman; one daughter, Barbara Shrawder; one brother, Paul Maxfield; two sisters, Ethel Barone and Delores Coble; and one daughter-in-law, Sandi Hartman.

A private graveside service will be conducted at the Forest Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Daniel Hicks, officiating.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
