Archie Troxell, Sr.

November 19, 1937 — September 22, 2015

MIFFLINBURG – Archie L. Troxell, Sr., 77, of 122 Church Rd., since 1978, entered into rest at 11:40 a.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at Milton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born November 19, 1937, in New Columbia, a son of the late Bert L. and Florence (Knepp) Troxell.  On May 25, 1979, in Mazeppa Union Church, he married the former Helen L. Maxfield, who survives.

Archie was a 1955 graduate of Milton High School.

He was employed as a supervisor of the offline finish department at Pennsylvania House, Lewisburg, for 35 years.

Archie attended the Christ Wesleyan Church, Milton.

He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Lodge 370, Mifflinburg, and the Vintage Iron Club, Mifflinburg.

Archie was very active and enjoyed refinishing and furniture repair work, woodworking, building furniture and grandfather clocks for his family, fishing, hunting, boating, and camping.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 36 years, are one daughter and son-in-law Wanda L.Troxell and Bill Michaels of New Columbia; one son and daughter-in-law, Archie, Jr. and Chandra Troxell of Lewisburg; one step-son, Rodney L. Shetterly of Mifflinburg; three step-daughters and step-sons-in-law, Karen D.and Jon Reigle of Mifflinburg, Terri K. and Thomas Duke of Mifflinburg, and Carol S. and Jeff Styers of Mifflinburg; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry P. and Judy Troxell of New Columbia, and David L. and Vicki Troxell of Middleburg; 16 grandchildren, Heather, Samantha, and Tyler Specht, Michael, Andrew, Nicholas, and Heaven Troxell, Chastidy Shuck, Jamie Stahl, Justin Richard, Benjamin, Weston, and Joshua Duke, Megan, and Kelsy Trutt; and 17 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen Troxell, and Ronald Troxell; one sister, Marian Snyder; and one step-son, Michael A. Shetterly.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where a masonic service will be conducted at 7:45.  The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. Ken Paulhamus, officiating.

Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
