Arlene W. English, 85, New Berlin

Arlene Weaver English, 85, a lifelong resident of New Berlin, most recently of 612 Market St., entered into rest at 9:45 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2012, at Riverwoods, Lewisburg.

She was born November 5, 1925, in Mifflinburg, a daughter of the late Elmer Best and Marion (Haines) Weaver. On October 17, 1948, she married Alan F. "Bud" English, who preceded her in death October 3, 2009.

Arlene attended Mifflinburg High School.

She was an active member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, New Berlin.

Arlene was employed as a seamstress at Mina's Bridal, Sunburg, and Selinsgrove Center, from where she retired in 1988.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Alan F., Jr. and Carol M. English of Germantown, MD; one daughter and son-in-law, Sally E. and John H. Riester of Cincinnati, OH; three grandchildren, Jessica Riester, Michael English, and Matthew English; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Harold and June Weaver of Florida, and Nevin "Jake" Weaver of Mifflinburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Helen Jean and Marlin Troup of Mifflinburg; two sisters-in-law, Jean Weaver of Mifflinburg, and Althea Weaver of Mifflinburg

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Alton "Abe", Franklin, and John Weaver

Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 308 Market St., New Berlin, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. Andrew S. Fitch, officiating.

Burial will be conducted privately in New Berlin Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
