Betty J. Weller Benfer, 80, Millmont
Betty Jane Weller Benfer, 80, a resident of Rolling Hills Manor, since July 2007, formerly of 616 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 3:40 a.m., Friday, February 25, 2011, at Rolling Hills Manor.
She was born September 27, 1930, in Union County, a daughter of the late Samuel Millhoff and Hattie Balliet. On May 28, 1950, she married Elwood Weller, who preceded her in death June 27, 1980. She then married Scott Benfer on July 14, 1984, who preceded her in death June 18, 1991.
Betty was employed at the Beavertown Shoe Factory, Milton Shoe Factory, and Pennsylvania House, Lewisburg.
She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo and cards, watching soap operas, and attending the Senior Centers in Mifflinburg and Penns Creek.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ricky and Cindy Weller of Middleburg, and Scott Weller of Mifflinburg; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Beverly Hackenberg of Middleburg, Peggy and Rusty Hendricks of Middleburg, Connie and Thomas Kleckner of Mifflinburg, and Verna Weller and her companion Charles "Van" Dorman of New Berlin; 18 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandsons.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Bickle; three sisters, Madeline Oister, Margaret Geiswite, and Ethel Straub; and one granddaughter, Bethann Weller.
Family and friends are welcome from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, and 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., with Evangelist Daryl Willow, officiating.
Burial will be in the Mazeppa Union Cemetery.
