Rev. Bobby C. "B.C." Threet, 78, Winfield
Rev. Bobby Carl "B.C." Threet, 78, of 18 Shawna Lane, for the past seven years, formerly of Byrdstown, Tennessee, and Adrian, Michigan, entered into rest Tuesday evening, May 24, 2011, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born November 2, 1932, in Wilder, Tennessee, son of the late Alonzo and Viola (Cravens) Threet. On July 11, 1950, he married the former Wilma P. Deming, who survives.
B.C. most recently attended the Chapman Community Chapel, Port Trevorton.
He was active in evangelistic work most of his life and pastored for 46 years, including at the Church of Christ in Christian Union in both Michigan for 4 years and Lewisburg for 2 years. B.C. founded the Sound of the Gospel Church in Selinsgrove, where he continued to pastor for 25 years.
B.C. was disc jockey of the "Southern Gospel Express" program on WMLP, Sunbury, was a member of the United Missionary Evangelistic Association.
He enjoyed singing and preaching with his family in the quartet, "Family Four", for seven years.
Surviving in addition to his wife of nearly 61 years, are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ricky D. Threet and his companion Joan Kerstetter of Winfield, and Phil C. and Marlene J. Threet of Mifflinburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara J. and Steve Wilbert of Port Trevorton, and Kim D. and Kii Z. Fisher of Shamokin Dam; one brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Bonnie Threet of Novi, Michigan; one sister and brother-in-law, Trish and Jim Munoz of Toledo, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Darrel Threet; four brothers, Beulis. William, Jewel, and Jesse Threet; and two sisters, Ruby Norris, and Janine Dillon.
Family and friends are welcome from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Chapman Community Chapel, 94 Silver Creek Rd., Port Trevorton, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. Kevin Rathmell and Pastor Michael Allen, officiating.
Burial will be in the Wayside Cemetery, Middleburg.
