Byron W. Brungart, 87, of Lewisburg, entered into rest at 3:50 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Evangelical Community Hospital.
He was born August 18, 1934, in Aaronsburg, a son of the late Kenneth T. and Irene H. (Stover) Brungart. On July 14, 1956, he married the former Jeanne I. Fye, who survives.
Byron was a graduate of Miles Township High School.
He was employed at HRI Construction, State College, for 40 years until retirement in 2002.
Byron enjoyed mowing and taking care of the yard and garden, and hunting. He was a member of Buffalo Valley Sportsmen’s Club, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and North American Hunting Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife of almost 66 years, is one son, Steve Brungart of Lewisburg; two sisters, Phyllis Walker of Colorado, and Leona “Sue” Myers of Spring Mills.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Van Horn; and two brothers, Larry Brungart and Terry Brungart.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 12, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 120 E. Main Street, Rebersburg, with Pastor Julie Holm, officiating.
Burial will follow in Livonia Cemetery, Miles Township.
