Millmont

“My soul is fed with needle and thread…”

Carolyn P. Bowersox, 83, of Millmont, formerly of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 10:55 a.m., Friday, April 9, 2021 at Rolling Hills Manor, where she had been a resident since 2013.

She was born July 2, 1937 at home in Watsontown, she was the tenth child of A. Larue and Ilda (Gray) Plotts. On July 22, 1972, she married Donald L. Bowersox, who survives.

She attended Watsontown High School.

Carolyn retired from Mifflinburg Farmers Exchange in 1999. She was Lewis Township’s tax collector for 25 years.

Carolyn “took in sewing” for 60 years. She learned her craft from a tailor while living in Germany. She loved math, fabrics, and people.  Her greatest “notions” were her children and grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 48 years are one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Morana Hill of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vanessa and David Swanseen of Mifflinburg, and Mindy and Brian Wilds of Clovis, CA; five grandchildren who “filled her bobbins”, Kollie and spouse Cody Giardinello of Pittsburgh, Electra Hill of Las Vegas, NV, Austin, Marissa, and Aidan Newell of Colombia, SC; two great-grandchildren, Lia M. Giardinello, Quinn Hill, and baby Giardinello due in June; two sisters, Aladean M. Aikey of Mifflinburg, and Emily Printzenhoff of Milton; two brothers, Frank “Mike” Plotts of Lewisburg, Richard and spouse Mildred Plotts of Bloomsburg, and sister-in-law, Jean Zeckman of Palmyra.

She will be joining her oldest granddaughter, Karlene M. Bilger in heaven; along with four brothers who always called her “Susie”, A. Larue, Jr., William, Boyd, and Roger Plotts; and one sister, Donna Wesley.

Carolyn will be greatly missed by her Rolling Hills Manor family, who lovingly called her “Grandma.”
