Catherine L. Johnson, 90, Mifflinburg

Catherine Janet Loehner Johnson, 90, of 129 Farm Hollow Lane, formerly of 277 Curtis St., Meriden, Connecticut, died at 8:10 a.m., Thursday, November 18, 2010, where she comfortably resided for a short time with her son, Peter R. Johnson.

She was born November 12, 1920, at 277 Curtis St., Meriden, CT, a daughter of the late August John and Elsie Margaret Graham Loehner. On November 29, 1941, she married Robert Fletcher Johnson, who preceded her in death April 1, 1973.

Catherine was a 1938 graduate of Meriden High School.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Meriden.

After marriage, Catherine moved to East Haven, Connecticut, and then spent most of her married life in Madison, Connecticut, where her two sons grew up.

She was employed as a secretary for various businesses, including Flexible Tubing, Guilford, Connecticut. After leaving work, as a loving Grandmother, Catherine cared for her first grandchild, Ryan Peter Johnson, during his parents working hours.

Outside of work, Catherine enjoyed reading John Jakes American history books, cooking, collecting teddy bears, watching Fox News, and caring for her home and family.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mark Fletcher Johnson of Bucksport, ME, and Peter Robert and Deborah G. Johnson of Mifflinburg; 3 grandchildren and their spouses, Ryan Peter and Devon Johnson of Pittsfield, MA, Jeremiah Fletcher Johnson and Alison Ahern of Bucksport, ME, and Ashley Rose Johnson of Bucksport, ME; and 5 great grandchildren, Edward Rivr Johnson, Andrew Peter Johnson, Elliot Graham Johnson, Michael Fletcher Johnson, and Hailey Lynn Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her sister Margaret Alice (Loehner) Arnold on October 12, 2004.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 4, at Hubbard Memorial Chapel, Walnut Grove Cemetery, 817 Old Colony Rd., Meriden, CT, with Pastor Adam Sodenburg, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
