Catherine Solomon

MILLMONT – Catherine Naomi Solomon, 77, of 406 Zimmerman Lane, entered into rest at 8:26 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont.

She was born May 19, 1938, in Milton, a daughter of the late Emery Franklin and Sarah Catherine (Brubaker) Scholl.  On May 11, 1960, in New Berlin, she married Carl E. Solomon, who preceded her in death September 25, 2008.

Catherine was employed as a server at the Old Turnpike Restaurant, Mifflinburg, for many years.  She also assisted are senior citizens in their homes.

She enjoyed reading, flowers, listening to music, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael T. and Kelly G. Solomon of Millmont, and Mark E. Solomon of Catawissa; six grandchildren, Christopher Solomon of Loganton, Michael Yarger of Millmont, Cecilia Yarger of Millmont, Stephanie and her husband Matt Fahringer of Catawissa, Travis Solomon of Millville, and Tyler Solomon of New Media; 2 great granddaughters, Daisy Mae Solomon and Madeline Fahringer; six brothers and five sisters-in-law, Carl and Helen Scholl of Shamokin Dam, Roy and Nancy Scholl of Lititz, Paul and Janet Scholl of Middleburg, Emery and Janet Scholl of North Adams, Massachusetts, Daniel and Mary Scholl of Beaver Springs, and James Scholl of Mansfield, Ohio; and three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Julia Erb of Lebanon, Pearl and Norman Reich of Beavertown, and Miriam and Doug Smith of Middleburg.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Merle, George, and Leon; and three sisters, Emma, Edith, and Darlene.

Funeral services will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.
