Charles Klauger

It is with great sorrow that the family of Charles W. Klauger, 81, of Weikert, announce his passing on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born November 22, 1939, in Ashland, a son of the late Lewis, Sr. and Catherine (Cooney) Klauger.  On October 1, 1960, in Ashland, he married his childhood sweetheart, the former Helen L. Ervine, who survives.

Charles attended Ashland High School and was a graduate of Williamson Trade School.

He enjoyed a long career with Air Products and Chemicals, retiring in 1995, as Regional Manager of the Southeast Region of the United States.

Charles loved his Lord and was an active member of Hironimus Union Church, Weikert.

He was an active fisherman and volunteered years of service to raising and stocking trout for the Union County Sportsmen’s Club.

Charles loved his Buicks and was known as “The Old Man of the Mountain” at the race track.

He was a member of the Union County Republican Committee and a true advocate for the residents of Hartley Township.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 68 years, are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Kevin Klauger of Hope Mills, North Carolina, and Keith and Marie Klauger of Philadelphia; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kim Wagner of Allentown, and Kelly and Dave Cliff of Roanoke, Virginia; four grandchildren, Lauren and her husband Jordan Henry, Alex Klauger, Ian Cliff and his companion Haley, and Isaac Cliff and his wife McKensey; and one great granddaughter, Jordan Mackenzie Henry.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Lewis Klauger, Jr.; and his beautiful daughter-in-law, Leslie Klauger.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
