LEWISBURG - Charles "Charlie" Raymond Mack, 86, of 768 Black Run Road since 1950, entered into rest at 8:05 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born Sept. 27, 1923, in Milton, a son of the late Ralph Raymond Mack and Daisy Emma (Ickes) Freed Mack. On Dec. 7, 1944, in West Milton, he married Margaret H. Reitenbach who preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 1985.
Charlie was employed for 40 years at Northstar Steel, Milton, (fomerly Milton Manufacturing), until he retired in September of 1988.
He was a member of the Milton Elks, and a life member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and the Loyal Order of Mosse Lodge 171, both of Milton.
Charlie enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, and creating his pine cone "posies."
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Charles R. Mack Jr. of Milton, and Jesse D. and Diana Mack of Lewisburg; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Margie H. and C. Allen Lohr, of Mifflinburg, Laura D. Mack, of Dauphin, and Daisy C. and James Russell, of Lewisburg; one brother, Ralph H. Mack, of Lewisburg; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Gladys Vogel, of Lewisburg, Dorothy and Robert Laudenslager, of Milton, Violet Reeder, of Milton, and Genevieve Phlegar, of Montoursville; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael D. Mack on Dec. 31, 2003, and three half-sisters, Gertrude Freed, Edna Hartzell, and Alberta Rebo.
Visitors may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Roupp Funeral Home Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg.
A private graveside service in the Forest Hill Cemetery will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
