Clara E. Eppley

Clara E. Eppley, 88, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 4:45 a.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Grandview Nursing and Rehab, Danville.

She was born July 6, 1935 in Port Trevorton, a daughter of the late Jay and Miriam (Scholl) Yeakley. On September 15, 1981, she married Earl J. Eppley, who preceded her in death August 24, 2013.

Clara was a graduate of Selinsgrove High School.

She was employed as an aide at the Selinsgrove Center.

Clara loved gardening. She had a beautiful vegetable garden and a variety of flowers.  She had a beautiful display of daffodils which she generously shared with others. Clara was talented as a baker and was known for her sticky buns. She was a gifted seamstress, making beautiful quilts and creating bags for all occasions.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Larry Kreitzer of Port Trevorton and Rose and Gary Piper of Chambersburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Brenda Good of Selinsgrove; one sister, Margaret Herrold of Snyder County; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, and one due in December; and one great-great-grandchild and one due in November. 

She was preceded in death by one brother, Franklin Yeakley.

Funeral services will be held privately, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.
