David E. Deihl, 86, Mifflinburg

David E. Deihl, 86, formerly of 529 Moll Rd., entered into rest at 6:15 p.m., Saturday, September 13, 2014, at his son's home in Selinsgrove, where he had lived since November 2013.

He was born December 27, 1927, in Richfield, a son of the late Clayton and Viola (Troup) Deihl. He was married to Hattie G. Bolig, who preceded him in death June 30, 2013.

David was a lifelong member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher, and most recently the Buffalo Valley United Methodist Church.

He served in the Army until his honorable discharge in 1952.

David was employed at Ritz-Craft, Mifflinburg, for many years. Earlier in life, he worked at John's TV, Milton, and Lee's TV, New Columbia.

He enjoyed growing blueberries on his farm.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Dale R. and Sandra L. Deihl of Selinsgrove; one daughter, Christine M. Heisler of Merritt Island, Florida; 5 grandchildren, Jason and his wife Latisha Deihl of Waldorf, MD, Tanya Deihl of Bloomsburg, Michael Diehl of Harrisburg, Matthew Diehl of Milton, and Candy Heisler of Florida; one great granddaughter, Kaydence Deihl; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Janette Deihl of Mifflinburg; and two sisters, Cora Wetzel of Milton, and Luella Baker of Mifflinburg.

Funeral services will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
