David W. Foresman, 82, Mifflinburg
David Watson Foresman, 82, of 1040 Skunk Hollow Rd., since 1954, entered into rest at 3:12 p.m., Thursday, October 14, 2010, at Williamsport Hospital & Medical Center.
He was born November 20, 1927, in Allenwood, a son of the late D. Watson and Helen (Fritz) Foresman. On June 30, 1951, at the Christ's Lutheran Church, Lewisburg, he married the former Marjorie J. Danowsky, who survives.
David was a member of the Dreisbach United Church of Christ, Lewisburg, since 1991. Prior to 1991, he was a member of the Allenwood Presbyterian Church, where he was a Trustee and Elder.
He owned and operated the Foresman family farm in Mifflinburg, and also transported animals for area farms. Earlier in life, David was a mail carrier in Allenwood, and a salesman for T.A. Seeds, Jersey Shore.
In the 1970's, David was President of the Eastern Milk Producers. He was also a member of the Lewisburg Young Farmers, Pennsylvania Farmers Association, and the National and Pennsylvania Holstein Association.
He enjoyed collecting I.H. Tractors, raising Belgian horses, and attending public sales and horse pulls.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 59 years, are four daughters and sons-in-law, Debra J. and John P. McCarty of Halifax, Joann L. and Anthony A. Klingler of Winfield, Shari M. and Troy V. Eichenlaub of Mifflinburg, and Gayle M. and Keith A. Pletcher of Mifflinburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Ned Reaser of Milton; four brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Mary Foresman of Allenwood, Hugh and Carol Foresman of Milton, Richard and Mary Lou Foresman of Muncy, and Daniel and Nancy Foresman of Muncy; 10 grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Snyder of Camp Hill, Heather McCarty of Bethlehem, Allen and his wife Kelly Klingler of New Berlin, Janae Klingler of Winfield, Joshua, Sarah, and Jacob Eichenlaub all of Mifflinburg, Ray, Kyle, and Seth Pletcher all of Mifflinburg; and one great grandson, Andrew Klingler.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Foresman.
Family and friends are welcome from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Monday, at the Dreisbach United Church of Christ, 875 Dreisbach Church Rd., Lewisburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. Michael C. Romig, officiating.
Burial will be in the Dreisbach Church Cemetery.
