David Wirth, Sr.

David Alan Wirth, Sr., 61, of 3886 Furnace Rd., Lewisburg, for the past 20 years, entered into rest at 7:50 a.m., Sunday, July 30, 2017, at his home.

He was born April 10, 1956, in Mifflinburg, a son of the late John C. and Elsie (Shaw) Wirth.  On June 18, 1977, he married the former Bonnie L. Reigle, who survives.

David was a 1974 graduate of Mifflinburg High School and later graduated from Geisinger School of Nursing, Danville.

He was employed as a Registered Nurse for 25 years, and most recently worked as Nursing Supervisor at Evangelical Community Hospital.  Earlier in life, he worked at Bucknell University, Lewisburg.

David loved nursing and helping anyone in need of it.  Everyone in his family and at work enjoyed his wit, sense of humor, and his knack for being able to make anyone laugh.  David was the kind of person that knew every answer to Jeopardy and enjoyed going out to trivia nights with his friends.

He was past master of the Free & Accepted Masons Lodge #370, Mifflinburg, and a member of the Shriners.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 40 years, are two sons and one daughter-in-law, David A., Jr. and Theresa Wirth of Mifflinburg, and Karl J. Wirth of Sunbury; two grandchildren, Tyler Wirth and Jacob Wirth; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly and Wayne Nolan of Laurelton, and Joyce and Will Hutto of South Carolina; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, James and Barb Wirth of Selinsgrove, and Chet Haines of Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where a masonic service will be conducted at 8.
