Deborah "Debbie" L. Basom

Deborah “Debbie” Lynn Basom, 49, of Lewisburg, entered into rest at 1:11 a.m, Monday, December 30, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born August 31, 1975, in Arkansas City, Kansas, a daughter of the late Jimmie Joe and Barbara Jean Lillian (Abersold) Trantham. On June 3, 2006, in Red Lion, she married Allen E. Basom, who survives.

Debbie was a 1995 graduate of Red Lion High School and attended McCann School of Business & Technology, Lewisburg.

She was employed as a cashier at Dollar General, Milton, for 5 years.

Debbie was devoted to her family, pouring all her love into her nieces and nephews, who she called her “babies,” as she never had any children of her own, with the exception of her cat Bella. She refused to let Allen leave home without kissing her. Debbie could make friends with anyone almost instantly and was deemed a favorite by all her caregivers. She was an embodiment of love and had a contagious smile, which will be greatly missed.

She enjoyed collecting coin banks and “Precious Moments” figurines, coloring, playing bingo, making people laugh, and music and television from the 1980’s.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 18 years, are two sisters, Karen Trantham of Bellefonte, and Jennifer and her husband David Page of Tampa, Florida; and one brother, James and his wife Jennifer Trantham of Felton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one niece, Cassandra.

A celebration of Debbie’s life will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Saint Paul’s @ The Farm, 50 Brookpark Circle, Lewisburg, with Rev. Timothy Hogan-Palazzo, officiating.
