Deborah J. Dixon, 61, Middleburg
Deborah JK Dixon, 61, of 922 Keister Rd., for the past 32 years, went to be with her Lord after a strong fight with cancer at 5:55 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born April 12, 1951, in Worcester, Massachusetts, a daughter of Jane (Auren) King of Charlotte, NC, and the late Russell King. On April 29, 1978, in Pittsburgh, she married L. Michael Dixon, who survives.
Deborah was a 1969 graduate of Upper St. Clair High School, and a 1974 graduate of West Chester University.
She was employed as a Special Education Teacher at the Selinsgrove Center for 11 years, and then at C.S.I.U, Lewisburg.
Deborah was a member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Penns Creek, where she served as a vacation bible school teacher and member of the consistory.
She enjoyed playing tennis in a women's league at Bucknell University.
Surviving in addition to her mother and husband, are one son, Justin M. Dixon of Philadelphia; one daughter, Tiffany J. Dixon of San Diego; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell and Cheryl King of Charlotte, NC, and Al and Jean King of Houston, TX.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert King.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Deborah, will be conducted at 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 4th at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Route 104, Penns Creek, with Rev. Michael Price, officiating.
Memorial gifts may be made to assist in the discovery of a cure for Adrenal Carcinoma, to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. 3rd St., Suite F, Williamsport, PA 17701.
Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
