Dennis D. Ronco, 87, Mifflinburg
Dennis Donato Ronco, 87, a resident of 871 Church Rd., Mifflinburg, where he lived with his son and family, and of Zephyrhills, Florida, entered into rest Tuesday morning, July 17, 2012, at his home in Mifflinburg.
He was born May 1, 1925, in Roseto, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Dominic and Carmel (Falcone) Ronco. On August 11, 1951, he married the former Pauline M. Prebula, who preceded him in death in 1995.
Dennis was a 1943 graduate of Bangor Area High School, and 1951 graduate of Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science.
He served during World War II in the Navy from July 2, 1943 until his honorable discharge March 28, 1946.
Dennis owned and operated pharmacies in Roseto and Bangor, until he retired in 1992.
He attended the St. George Catholic Church, Mifflinburg.
Dennis was a pilot and enjoyed flying his airplane. He also enjoyed boating, wine making, and amateur radio (N3ASP). Dennis he was an artist and enjoyed painting and stain glass making.
Starting in 1957, he served as borough councilman in Roseto.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Domenick N. and Judy M. Ronco of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and David Peters of Amherst, New Hampshire; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Grace and John Stagaman of San Antonio, Florida, and Mary Jane and Robert Ijames of New Port Richey, Florida; five grandchildren and their spouses, Damon and Nicole Ronco of Marietta, Alyssa and Nash Shanmugam, of Rutherford, NJ, Abby Ronco of Mifflinburg, Amanda Peters of Amherst, and Rachel Peters of Amherst; and two great grandchildren, Landon and Giuliana Ronco of Marietta.
Family and friends are welcome for a time of visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Monday, at the St. George Church, 775 Forest Hill Rd., Mifflinburg, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., with Rev. John Hoke, celebrant.
Burial with military honors will be in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Roseto.
The family will provide flowers, but memorial gifts may be made to either the Susquehanna Council of the Boy Scouts of America, 131 Thomas Dam Rd., Millmont, PA 17845, or the St. George Church, 775 Forest Hill Rd., Mifflinburg, PA 17844.
