Donald G. Buoy, 79, Laurelton

Donald Gene Buoy, 79, of 1651 State Route 235, for the past 52 years, entered into rest at 10:45 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2012, at SUN Home Hospice Care Center, Sunbury.

He was born February 15, 1933, in Laurelton, a son of the late Phillip H. and Marcella (Schnure) Buoy. On December 8, 1956, in the Laurelton Lutheran Church, he married the former Audrey H. Hackenberg, who survives.

Donald was a 1951 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.

He served in the Army from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1954.

Donald was employed at Yorktowne, Inc., Mifflinburg, for over 20 years, until he retired in 2007. He
also worked as a butcher at the Laurel Market, Laurelton.

He served as Hartley Township Supervisor, for 24 years. Donald also enjoyed coaching in the Laurelton Little League, and bowling in area leagues. He was proud to have never missed voting in an election, and was honored for donating blood for many years.

Surviving in addition to his wife of nearly 56 years, are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dennis Buoy of Laurelton, Bob and Donna Buoy of Mifflinburg, and Tony and Cinda Buoy of Laurelton; one daughter, Terri Bennage and her companion Richard Ballard of Mifflinburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Merle and Jean Buoy of Laurelton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marion and Robert Chappell of Lewisburg, and Barbara and Bud Kirby of East Waterford; six grandchildren and their spouses, Lonny and Janelle Bennage, Billy Bennage and his companion Rebecca, Nina and Ed Kirick, Trey Buoy, Derek Keifer, and Courtney and Mack Rohaly; and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Kittybelle Hosterman; and one son-in-law, Bill Bennage.

Family and friends are welcome from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. Wayne S. Krell, officiating.

Burial will be in the Hartleton Cemetery, with military honors by the Mifflinburg American Legion Post 410.
