Donald Grove

Donald M. Grove, 76, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 9:40 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018, at his residence.

He was born February 8, 1942, in Mifflinburg, a son of the late Earl C. and Angeline M. (Catherman) Grove. On August 30, 1980, he married the former Ginny R. Bateman, who preceded him in death on October 16, 2010.

Donald attended Mifflinburg high school.

He served in the Army from February 1960, until his honorable discharge in February 1966.

Donald worked as a supervisor for the Department of Transportation for 31 years, until retirement.

Donald was a member of the American Legion, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. He also enjoyed attending family picnics and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are three sons and three daughters-in-law, Donald F. and Ashlea Grove of Middleburg, Robert M. and Cindy Grove of Millmont, and Timothy A. and Robin Grove of McClure; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathleen R. and Terry Smith, Jr. of Millmont, and Tammy L. and Eugene Leitzel of Richfield; two sisters, Jean Guisewite of Mifflinburg, and Sally Boyer of Lewisburg; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Loretta Grove; two sons, Donald M. Grove, Jr., and John R. Grove; two brothers, Earl G. Grove Jr., and Frederick Grove; and two sisters, Freida Hough, and Betty Bennage.

Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Roupp Funeral Home., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the memorial service will be conducted at 11, with Rev. Richard VonNeida, officiating.
