Donald D. Pontius, 73, Milton

Donald David Pontius, 73, of 15 Stone Fence Rd., since August 2009, formerly of Washingtonville for 33 years, entered into rest at 6:11 p.m., Thursday, September 30, 2010, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born April 8, 1937, in Limestone Township, a son of the late Ambrose D. and Alma V. (Walter) Pontius. On June 23, 1956, in Mifflinburg, he married the former Glenda M. Bowersox, who survives.

Donald was a member of the Amazing Grace Ministries, Montgomery.

He honorably served in the Army Reserves for 8 years.

Donald was employed for 33 years at Pennsylvania House, Lewisburg.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, and riding horses.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 54 years, are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Roger D. and Lisa R. Pontius of Turbotville, and James E. Pontius and his companion Kelly Sheaffer of Turbotville; one daugher Cynthia E. Furr and her companion Christopher Fausnaught of Sunbury; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Patsy and Terry Troup of Mazeppa, and Linda Pontius of Mifflinburg; 7 grandchildren and their spouses, Amanda and Eric Womer, Candice Malone, Timothy Furr, Jr., Jacob Furr, Nicole and Jeff Herman, Schuyler Pontius, and Kesley Pontius; and 7 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are welcome from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m., with Pastor Carl Vining, officiating.

Burial will be in the Mifflinburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Amazing Grace Ministries, Building Fund, 5838 US Highway 15, Montgomery, PA 17752.
