Donald L. Shirk

Donald L. Shirk, 80, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 12:25 p.m., Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Gatehouse Hospice, Williamsport. 

He was born September 9, 1944, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Bruce and Jenetta (Bilger) Shirk. On February 2, 1964, he married the former Kay Wagner, who proceeded him in death on March 6, 2022.

Donald was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School. 

He was employed at Weis Markets, Mifflinburg, and IGA, Mifflinburg, for over 50 years, until he retired.

Donald was a member of the Union County West End Fair Association for many years, and a member of the Hartleton Cemetery Association. 

He enjoyed playing horseshoes, riding his moped, fishing, and spending time at his cabin. 

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Cathleen Shirk of Mifflinburg; one sister, Nancy Wagner of Selinsgrove; five grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Katrina Leamons.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 8, at Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, with Rev. Curt Wingert, officiating. 

Burial will be in the Hartleton Cemetery.
