Donna J. Schultz

Donna Jean Schultz, 76, of New Berlin, passed away peacefully at 5:18 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born August 28, 1947, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Kenneth D. Oberdorf and Betty E. (Styers) Oberdorf-Dorman.  On April 25, 1965, at the Mifflinburg Nazarene Church, with Rev. Pick officiating, she married Elwood C. Schultz, who survives.

Donna attended Mifflinburg High School.

She was a stay-at-home mother until her youngest child went to school.  At that time, Donna worked as an audio-visual secretary at Mifflinburg Area School District and as a waitress at Amity House restaurant, Lewisburg.  She and her long-time friend, Karon, operated the Old Turnpike Restaurant, Mifflinburg, for 31 years from 1990 until they retired in 2021.

Donna loved cooking and baking, especially for her family on Monday nights.  She enjoyed Christmas with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and in her younger years, Donna enjoyed cross stitching.

As her health declined, Donna had kind, caring, and compassionate caregivers to keep her comfortable.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 58 years, are two daughters, Julie L. Schultz and her fiancé Mark Keister of New Berlin, and Melissa S. Wray and her fiancé Earl “Bill” Corl of New Berlin;  one brother, Edwin Oberdorf of Forest Hill; three sisters, and two brothers-in-law, Susan and Robert Dorman of Mifflinburg, Sandra Aikey of Mifflinburg, and Patricia and Ed Bastuscheck of Lewisburg; five grandchildren and their spouses, Alyssa and Michael Byers, Dale Brosious and his companion Samantha Cease, Hannah and Joe Pirraglia, Blake Wray, and Ashtyn Wray; six great grandchildren, Alexa and Aubrey Byers, Ryland Brosious, and Waylon, William, and Stella Pirraglia; and her best friend for over 30 years, Karon Ricker.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth D. Oberdorf, Jr.; and one sister, Judy A. Wagner

Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, December 18, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the service will be conducted at 11, with Pastor Marc Snyder, officiating.

Burial will be in New Berlin Cemetery.
