Donna Jean Trutt, 87, of Mifflinburg was reunited with her husband once again after a brief illness, at home surrounded by her children, on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 12:39 p.m. Heaven got a little brighter from her smile.
Donna was the daughter of the late Leotta F. (Jameson) and Harold L. Kerstetter. A gift from God, she was given to them on July 4, 1937. Donna was a 1955 graduate of Milton High School, with her red hair flowing. On April 20, 1957, she married the love of her life, Glenn Trutt, Jr. in Steelton.
In her earlier years, Grandma babysat for numerous neighborhood children. Mom was then employed by the Mifflinburg Area School District as a teacher’s aide. Donna thoroughly enjoyed her 25 years being a “school mom” to many students.
A few of Grandma Boo-Boo’s favorite things and places to spend time were Boscov’s, TJ Maxx, Longhorn, Olive Garden, and any place with ice cream, root beer floats, or a malibu bay breeze on the menu.
Sunny days sitting on her deck, reading a book, playing solitaire, or doing a word search book were also favorites. Going to lunch with the “Lunch Bunch” or dinners and playing cards with the “Bus Buds” was always a good day. Bath and Bodyworks was a favorite place where she would go to buy a candle or 15.
Geemz also enjoyed being a spectator at her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events. Also, going to any and all Mifflinburg sporting events brought her much joy. By far, her favorite place to be was picking up seashells or just relaxing on the balcony in OCMD.
Donna was always ready to greet anyone and everyone with a huge smile, hug, kiss, hand hold, or even a wink. If you were lucky enough you would receive all of the above. She just wanted everyone to know how much they were loved.
Donna has two siblings, Dorothy Neff and husband Ed, and Jim Farley and his wife Jan; and many nieces and nephews.
She would tell anyone her greatest accomplishments were definitely her four children, who she adored. Three sons and their wives, Glenn Curtis “Fuzz” and Kathy “Case”, Terry Alan and Lisa, Robert Michael and Georgia; one daughter Traci Ann Trutt Good; her grandchildren-also known as her “bundles of joy”, whom she lived for are Amy Hockenbrock (John), Tyler Trutt (Amy), Tricia Jarrett (Tyler), Travis Trutt (Jamie), Danielle Davis (Dave), Kelsy Trutt (Rachel), Haley Trutt (MaKenna), Delaney and Kennedy Good.
Donna was also blessed to have an abundance of great grandchildren, also known as her “bundles”, Kamden, Hadlee, and Greylen Hockenbrock, Adalyn and Mason Trutt, Kendel and Everly Jarrett, Cloey and Carter Davis, Dakota (Paige) Wolford, RyLee (Brayden) Sortman, Zachary, Hadley Hess, and Emmitt Sortman.
She also loved visits and snuggles from her grand dogs, McKinley, Paisley, Marlee, and Lola.
In addition to her husband of 63 years and parents, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Tiffany Nicole Trutt and Megan Alyssa Trutt.
Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, February 22, at Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the memorial service will be conducted at 3, with Barry Boney, officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to: The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Legacy of Megan A. Trutt, https://supporting.afsp.org/campaign/Legacy-of-Megan-Trutt
