LEWISBURG - Dorathy Evalene Derr, 94, of 2040 W. Market St., since 1934, entered into rest at 8 a.m. Sunday, March 21, 2010, in Allenwood, at the home of her daughter, Karen, where she had lived since 2007.
She was born March 7, 1916, in Mifflinburg, a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Anna Elizabeth (Albert) Delcamp. On July 7, 1946, in Lewisburg, she married Russell Levi Derr who preceded her in death in 1966.
She was employed at J.P.M. Co., Lewisburg, from 1956 until she retired in 1972. Earlier in life, she was employed at a laundry store in Lewisburg for 10 years.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Lewisburg, for over 50 years.
Dorathy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening at her home, quilting, sewing, and crocheting.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Karen L. and Donald I. Nicholas Jr., of Allenwood; one brother, A. Ray Delcamp, of Lewisburg; five grandchildren and their spouses, Elva and Carl Schmidt, of Muncy, Mary and Shane Berrell, of Watsontown, Mark and Cheri Nicholas, of New Columbia, Martha and Patrick Reisinger, of Pittsburgh, and Matt and Wendy Nicholas, of Watsontown; and 10 great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles E. and Albert S. Delcamp; six sisters, Florence Heddings, Erma Troxel, Leonore Baker, Ethelene Erb, and two infant sisters; and one great-granddaughter, Collette Schmidt.
Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg, and prior to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Revival Tabernacle, 960 Susquehanna Trail, Watsontown, where the funeral will be conducted at 2, with the Rev. Jame Bond and the Rev. Paula M. Gustafson, officiating.
Burial will be in the Mazeppa Union Cemetery.
