Dorothy M. (Shirar) Guzenski, 89, of Lewisburg, formerly of Whitehall, entered into rest Friday, January 1, 2021, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
She was born November 23, 1931 in Allentown, a daughter of the late George and Ruth (Reinohel) Shirar. On July 11, 1953, she married Anthony L. Guzenski, who preceded her in death in 2007.
Dorothy was a 1950 graduate of Allentown High School.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Allentown, where she was involved with the Women of St. Francis’ Attic Treasure program.
Dorothy enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking, crafts, and shopping. She was a lover of classical music and ballroom dancing.
She volunteered with her husband for the Greater Allentown Pioneers, assisting with their annual coat drive.
Surviving are 6 children--three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandra L. and Andrew Oleszczuk of Simpsonville, Sc., Cathy L. and Gary Mertz of Chesapeake, Va., and Tina M. Goss of Tamaqua; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Daniel T. and Penny Guzenski of Middleburg, Anthony L. and Mary Guzenski of Kutztown, and Troy D. Guzenski of Whitehall; one sister, Jean Brezack of Bethlehem; 12 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, George Shirar in 2019.
A graveside service will be celebrated at Cedar Hills Memorial Park, Allentown.
