Earl Rothermel

Earl A. Rothermel, 93, of 264 Rothermel Lane, Mifflinburg, since 1949, entered into rest at 11:52 a.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at home.

He was born April 9, 1928, in Herndon, a son of the late John L. and Katie (Gessner) Rothermel. On May 1, 1949, he married the former Faylene F. Zechman, who survives.

He was the 1st Elder of the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Lewisburg, where he taught Sunday School for 60 years. Earl was also a Gideon for many years.

Earl was a farmer his entire life and owned and operated a dairy farm.

Surviving in addition to his wife of almost 72 years, are one son and daughter-in-law, Barry E. and Teresa Rothermel of Mifflinburg; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Jay Ravert, Carol and Gary Kreisher, and Susan and Scott Flood, all of Mifflinburg; 8 grandchildren, Steven Kreisher, Tim Kreisher, Andrew Rothermel, Heidi Rothermel Heintzelman, Kellie Rothermel Southers, Matthew Getz, Eric Rothermel, and Brady Getz; and 10 great-grandchildren, Katie, Tyler and Kylie Rothermel, Connor, Carly, Dan, and Emily Kreisher, Payson and Parker Southers, and Isla Getz.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Guy, Leroy, and Mark Rothermel; and two sisters, Helen Clark and Margaret Kuhns.

A private committal service will be conducted at Hartleton Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

A public memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
