Earl W. Wallace, 91, Mifflinburg

Earl William Wallace, 91, of 304 N. 4th St., for the past 60 years, went to be with his Lord at 5:57 p.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born February 22, 1921, in Troxelville, a son of the late Charles and Charlotte Wallace. On August 11, 1946, in the Wesley United Methodist Church, Mifflinburg, he married the former Violet I. "Dolly" Reigle, who survives.

Earl was a faithful member of the Hillside Bible Church, Mifflinburg, since 1982, where he served as usher and assisted in the building of the school.

A World War II veteran, he served in the army from 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1946. During this time he was awarded with a purple heart.

Earl was employed as a track man for the Pennsylvania Railroad for 31 years, until he retired in 1982. After his retirement, he worked at Snook's Mill, Mifflinburg, for 10 years.

He was a faithful believer in his Lord, and enjoyed reading his bible daily. Earl also enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, building, and traveling.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Dolly, of nearly 66 years, are one daughter and son-in-law, Linda L. and Terry L. Vonada of Mifflinburg; a twin brother, Orvis and his wife Betty Wallace of Mifflinburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Hillside Bible Church, 1650 Centennial Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. Ryan T. Henderson, officiating.

Burial will be in the Hillside Bible Church Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
