Earnestine "Teenie" E. Wagner, 85, Mifflinburg
Earnestine "Teenie" E. Wagner, 85, of 94 E. Market St., entered into rest at 11:35 a.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at Riverwoods, where she had been a resident since August 19th.
She was born January 11, 1926, in Mifflinburg, a daughter of the late Paul L. and Caroline E. "Carrie" (Bottiger) Spotts. On June 16, 1946, in West Milton, she married Mark S. Wagner. He preceded her in death in 1985.
Teenie attended Mifflinburg High School.
She was a member of the Mazeppa United Methodist Church, for over 60 years.
Before marriage, she was employed at the Huntington Throwing Mills, Mifflinburg, and later sold Avon and worked at the Mifflinburg Shoe Store. Teenie and Mark also owned and operated Wagner's Stationery, Lewisburg.
Teenie volunteered as a Brownie assistant and 4-H leader. She was a member of the Mifflinburg Civic Club and Mifflinburg Athenaeum Club.
She enjoyed knitting, quilting and knotting throws and baby blankets. Teenie had made over 100 baby blankets for family and friends. She enjoyed family gatherings and dinners at her home, and time with her friends at her cabin, the Halfway Rod and Gun Club. She also enjoyed all of the family pets, most recently, her cat Midnight.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Philip V. and Linda L. Wagner of Mifflinburg, and Gregory B. and Hope A. Wagner of Selinsgrove; one daughter, Donna J. Bitner of Mifflinburg; three grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and Laurie Derr of Selinsgrove, Brett and Tracy Derr of Mifflinburg, Jennifer and Brett Hoffmaster of Mifflinburg; three step-grandchildren and their spouses, Cindy and Gary Pepple of Everitt, Pam Shapshak of Valencia, CA, and Judi and Jim Handel of Lynchburg, VA; four grandchildren, Tayla, Noah, Payton, and Tyson Derr; six step-grandchildren, Christy and Shawn Pepple, Matthew and Rachael Shapshak, and Andrew and Sarah Handel; and one brother-in-law, Nevin "Jake" Weaver.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, June Parker, Pearl Blyler, Mae Hester, and Elsie Weaver; one brother, John Spotts; one grandson, Burke Derr; one step granddaughter, Sarah Rathfon; and one son-in-law, Donald R. Bitner.
There will be no public viewing. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Teenie, will be conducted at 7 p.m., Saturday, at the Mazeppa United Methodist Church, 3257 Johnson Mill Rd., Lewisburg, with Rev. Daniel H. Hicks, officiating.
