Eleanor Y. Renner, 92, Mifflinburg
Eleanor Y. Renner, 92, of Mifflinburg, formerly of Selinsgrove, entered into rest Friday, December 26, 2014, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village Nursing Home, Lewisburg.
She was born May 10, 1922, in Elysburg, a daughter of the late Alexander S. and M. Margaret (Kase) Yocum. She married Earl A. Renner who proceeded her in death on May 14, 2000.
Eleanor was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Elysburg and attended the Christ’s United Lutheran Church, the Four Bells Church, Millmont.
She retired from the Lowly Clothier in Selinsgrove and was an accomplished seamstress with many factories in Central Pennsylvania. She was a great mother, a loving grandmother and an avid quilter.
Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-laws, James E. and Holly Renner of Duncannon, and Mark A. and Cindy Renner of Havre De Grace, Maryland; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sally Ann and Robert Wilifinger of Coplay, and Wanda Jo Stamm of Mifflinburg; a sister-in-law, Arlene Yocum of Danville; five grandchildren, Stephen and his wife Dina Snyder, Eric and his wife Christine Verret, Richard Renner, Jackie Renner and Casey Renner; three stepgrandchildren, Mackenzie, Nick and Brandy Keister; two great-grandchildren, Gwen Verret and Alex Snyder and four stepgreat-grandchildren; Jillian Foulds and Ben, Zach and Bella Roberti.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by three brothers; Lester, Donald and George Yocum and a son-in-law, John Stamm, Jr.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be conducted Saturday January 3, 2015 from 11 am – 1 pm at Christ’s United Lutheran Church, the Four Bells Church, 13765 Old Turnpike Road, Millmont, PA with Rev. John D. Yost and Rev. Chad Herrold overseeing activities. A private burial at a later date in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Elysburg will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family suggest memorial contributions in Eleanor’s name be made to Veteran Affairs of Snyder County, 9 West Market St., Middleburg, PA 17842 or Veteran Affairs of Union County, 115 North 15th St., Lewisburg, PA 17837.
