Ellsworth “Wayne” W. Holden, Sr., 73, of 210 Cooney Road, Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 12:28 a.m., Monday, April 20, 2020, at his home.
He was born March 25, 1947, in Easton, Maryland, a son of Frances Mary Harrison of Ridgely, Maryland, and the late Kennard Holden. On December 21, 2009, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, he married the former Debra A. Kratzer, who survives.
Wayne was a graduate of North Caroline High School, Ridgely, Maryland.
He was employed as a truck driver and business owner for 43 years, until he retired in 2008, from Watsontown Trucking. During his professional driving, Wayne traveled through each of the lower 48 states.
Wayne attended Port Ann Wesleyan Church, Middleburg.
He was a member of the John Deere Club.
Wayne enjoyed restoring tractors and antique cars, camping, NASCAR, Western movies, horses, farming, gardening, and attending auctions.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 10 years, are one son, E. Wayne Holden, Jr. of Tennessee; one daughter, Andrea H. Alam of Mechanicsville, Virginia; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Jim Brown of Parsonsburg, Maryland, Carolyn Causey of Ridgely, and Lisa and Mark Korell of Ridgely; one grandson, Zachary Alam of Mechanicsville; mother-in-law, Ruby N. Kratzer of Lewisburg; and sister-in-law, Ruth Ettinger of Mifflinburg.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Warren Holden; brother-in-law, Allen Causey; father-in-law, Graydon Kratzer; and brother-in-law, Ronald Ettinger.
A private graveside service will be at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Middleburg.
A memorial service to celebrate Wayne’s life will be announced at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
