Elwood Franklin Erb, 91, formerly of 9050 Colonel John Kelly Rd., entered into rest at 7:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Riverwoods, Lewisburg, where he had been a resident since 2013.
He was born October 2, 1923, in West Buffalo Township, a son of the late Floyd L. and Myrtle May (Miller) Erb.
Elwood attended the Forest Hill Grade School.
He served in the Army from February 24, 1943 until his honorable discharge February 28, 1946.
Elwood was employed at Pennsylvania Power & Light as a linesman for 20 years. He then worked at R.B. Winter State Park in maintenance until he retired.
He was a member of the Union County Sportsmens Club, Weikert, and Mifflinburg Moose, where he enjoyed bowling.
Elwood enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at the Beck Mills cabin, walking trails in the mountain, traveling to Canada, and watching high school football and wrestling.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold W., and Leo Erb; and three sisters, Adeline V. Aikey, Arlene A. Hartman, and Lucille E. Roush.
A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Route 192, Mifflinburg, with Pastor Butch Woolsey, officiating.
Military honors will be by the Mifflinburg American Legion Post 410 and area veterans.
Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
