Elwood A. Mitchell, 84, Mifflinburg
Elwood Albert Mitchell, 84, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 10:50 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2013, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont.
He was born November 6, 1928, in White Springs, a son of the late John Henry Mitchell and Susie (Dersham) Mitchell Freniere.
Elwood was a 1946 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
He served in the Army, touring in Germany, from September 28, 1950 until his honorable discharge September 4, 1956.
Elwood was employed by George Carr in Mifflinburg and worked as a custodian at the shopping center. He also worked for C. A. Shipton Construction, Mifflinburg.
He enjoyed riding his bicycle, drawing, painting, farming, and antique tractors and farm equipment.
Elwood was the last survivor of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Alexander Freniere; and half-brother, Merle Freniere.
Friends are welcome from 10:30 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. Wayne S. Krell, officiating.
Burial will be in the Mifflinburg Cemetery.
