Elwood “Toot” P. Smith, 88 of Gessner Rd., Lewisburg, entered into rest at 12:04 p.m., Sunday, September 20, 2020, at home.
He was born May 19, 1932 in White Deer Township, a son of the late Foster and Lottie (Paul) Smith. On October 28, 1952, he married the former Shirley L. Wirth, who survives.
Toot was employed at Joyce Western, New Columbia.
He was a member of the Forest Hill Church of Faith.
Toot enjoyed hunting, butchering, playing checkers, listening to music, quoits, and attending church. Elwood loved to spend time with his family, entertain people, and was always the life of the party. He was always smiling and would do anything for anyone.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 67 years, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Lisa Smith of Beaver Springs, and Rick Smith and Sandy Koch of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Chris Mull of Lewisburg; 12 grandchildren, Billie Jo Raker, Clarence Raker, Randy Smith, Jr., Jeremy Smith, Shannon Shaffer, Robbie Smith, Tonya Dunkle, Nichole Gearhart, Lucas Wade, Amber Koch, Shawn Smith, and Chris Mull, Jr.; 32 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Raker in 1997; and three brothers, Bill, Gene, and Derril Smith.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
