Erma K. Walters, 91, Lewisburg
Erma K. Walters, 91, formerly of Mifflinburg from 1941 to 1975, and Kreamer for 35 years, entered into rest at 1:37 a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Riverwoods, where she had been a resident for the past month.
She was born November 19, 1919, in Union County, a daughter of the late Charles and Carrie (Kratzer) Krouse. In 1941, she married John Mook, who preceded her in death in 1961. In 1975, at the St. John's United Church of Christ, Mifflinburg, she married Elwood H. Walters, who survives.
Erma was formerly a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ, Mifflinburg, and for the past 35 years a member of the Christ's Lutheran Hassinger Brick Church, Middleburg.
She was employed for over 40 years at the Huntington Throwing Mills, Mifflinburg.
Erma enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, and was known for her excellent cooking and baking skills.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther and Roy Krouse; and four sisters, Margaret Krouse, Beulah Troup, Ethel Silverman, and Iva Cockriell.
There will be no public viewing. The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Saturday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, with Rev. Gary Owens and Rev. Joseph Lingenfelter, officiating.
Burial will be in the Mifflinburg Cemetery.
