Ernest L. Yoder, 65, Mifflinburg
Ernest Yoder, 65, of 5281 Buffalo Rd., entered Heaven's gate at 9:35 a.m., Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at the home of his sister Martha and David Troyer.
He was born September 24, 1948, in Reedsville, a son of the late Noah A. and Amanda N. (Kurtz) Yoder.
Ernest was mentally disabled and lived all his life with his parents, including the past 34 years at 755 Johnson Mill Rd., Lewisburg. On July 1, 2014, he moved in with the Troyer family where he was lovingly cared for until his passing.
He was a special part of the Shady Grove Christian Fellowship, Mifflinburg. Ernest's favorite hobby was driving his "putt-putt", a John Deere 50. He loved singing and had many favorite hymns.
Surviving are two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ervin and Theda Yoder of Bemidji, Minnesota, and Kore and Miriam Yoder of Lewisburg; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Alta and Sam Mullet of Sugarcreek, Ohio, and Martha and David Troyer of Mifflinburg; 17 nieces and nephews; and 20 great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Amanda N. (Kurtz) Yoder on May 2, 2014, and his father, Noah A. Yoder, on June 26, 2014; one nephew, Benjamin Mullet; and 2 infant sisters.
Family and friends are welcome from 1 to 2:30 p.m., Sunday, at the Shady Grove Christian Fellowship, 5327 Buffalo Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 2:30, with officiating ministers, David King, Joe Peachey, and Simon Bender.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
