Evelyn M. Sampsell, 94, Penns Creek
Evelyn Mae Sampsell, 94, of 401 Chestnut St., for the past 4 years, formerly of 14 N. 5th St., Mifflinburg, since 1953, entered into rest at 5:45 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born February 28, 1920, in Mifflinburg, a daughter of the late Ray and Pearl (Beck) Hoffman. On April 18, 1938, she married LeRoy J. Sampsell, who preceded her in death June 28, 1994.
Evelyn attended the Rand School, Mifflinburg.
Earlier in life, she was employed at the Huntington Throwing Mill, Mifflinburg.
Evelyn enjoyed attending auctions with her husband.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, David L. and Annette Sampsell of Penns Creek; one granddaughter, Heather Sampsell of Penns Creek; one great grandson, Cameron Wolfe; and one sister-in-law, Rosella Hoffman of Mifflinburg.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest, Charles, and Kenneth Hoffman; and two sisters, Alma Reed, and Sara Bowersox.
Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. Ricky Phillips, officiating.
Burial will be in the Hartleton Cemetery.
