Fay D. Oberlin, 71, New Berlin

Fay Dian Oberlin, 71, of 808 Market St., since 1964, entered into rest peacefully surrounded by her family, at 12:54 a.m., Sunday, September 11, 2011, at her home.

She was born October 20, 1939, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Frank A., Sr. and Kathryn (Shannon) Reichard. On January 4, 1958, she married Marlin "Obie" Raymond Oberlin, who survives.

Fay was a 1957 graduate of Mifflinburg High School. She graduated as valedictorian and was voted most outstanding athlete of her class .

She was of the protestant faith.

Fay was employed for 34 years at Yorktowne Kitchens, Mifflinburg.

She was a member of T.O.P.S. and active in Relay for Life. Fay enjoyed reading, traveling, playing bingo, and spending time with friends at the Hollywood Casino, Harrisburg.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 53 years, are two daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne D. and John E. Yerger of New Berlin, and Julie A. and Ted E. Dauler of Laurelton; three brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Sharon Reichard of Mifflinburg, Dale and Deborah Reichard of Mifflinburg, and George and Jane Hurst of Fort Worth, TX; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Kay Derk of Mechanicsburg, Pat and Dewey Williams of Sunbury, and Emily and Ronald Kline of Winfield; four grandchildren and their spouses, Scott and Vera Yerger of New Berlin, Jon and Kelly Reigle of Pensacola, FL, Brooke and Nathan Boob of New Columbia, and Phoenix Dressler of Laurelton; two step grandchildren, Rebecca Dauler of Houston, TX, and T.J. Dauler of Granby, MA; three great grandchildren, Andrew Yerger, Jacob Boob, and Christine Boob; and three step-great grandchildren, Kyla DeLaVega, Tyler Stoltzfus, and Tanner Stoltzfus; and one sister-in-law, Ilene Reichard of Etters.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Frank A. Reichard, Jr.

There will be no public viewing. Family and friends are welcome from noon to 1 p.m., Saturday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where a memorial service to celebrate the life of Fay will be conducted at noon, with Rev. Ricky A. Phillips, Evangelical Hospice Chaplain, officiating.

Interment will be in the New Berlin Cemetery.
