Fay Jeanette (Jones) Zechman, 78, Millmont
Fay Jeanette (Jones) Zechman, 78, formerly of Millmont, entered into eternal rest on
Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg, eight days
after her 78th birthday.
Fay was born January 3, 1935 in Shamokin, a daughter of the late
Dewey M. and Carrie M (Hooper) Jones. On January 2nd, 1954 she married the late
Charles E. Zechman, Jr., who preceded her in death, five days earlier on January 6,
2013.
Fay attended McClure High School. She spent the majority of her life as a homemaker,
and held various jobs throughout her life.
"Fay-Netter" as she was affectionately known by her family was a lifelong member of
Lincoln Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurelton, and a very active member of the
church choir and other church groups. She was an active participant in the Keystone
Walk to Emmaus community with her sister Daun, and was a longtime treasurer of the
Millmont West Union Area Lions Club.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and she enjoyed crafting and
attending craft shows with her husband. She really enjoyed shopping on the home
shopping networks, but her true joys of life were her family, Lipton Tea, and of course
chocolate.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David E. and Linda C. Zechman, of
Laurelton; one grandson, Charles R. "Chip" Zechman and his wife, Elizabeth A., of
Millmont; one granddaughter, Ava J. Zechman and her husband, Brent D., of
Middleburg; one great-grandson, Ridge W. Zechman, of Middleburg; and three brothers
and one sister, Kenneth Jones of Beaver Springs, Percy Jones of Donalsonville Georgia,
Paul Jones of Herndon, and Daun Klinger of Mount Pleasant Mills.
In addition to her husband Charles, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister, S. Wayne
Jones of Quitman Georgia, and Doris who died at birth.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public viewing or services. Private
funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of her family at the Lincoln Chapel
United Methodist Church, Laurelton, with Pastor Mark Messner officiating.
