Florine Davis

Florine J. Davis, 87, of Millmont, entered into rest at 7:25 p.m., Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

She was born March 8, 1931, in Alum Bank, a daughter of the late Ward and Eula (Nunamaker) Barefoot.  On December 18, 1953, in Pleasantville, she married Robert D. Davis, who preceded her in death July 5, 2001.

Florine was a member of the Christ Community Church, Glen Iron, where she was a Sunday School teacher.  Earlier in life, she was an active member of United Methodist Church, Pleasantville.

She was a 1949 graduate of Pleasantville High School.

Florine enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, and loved her church and spending time with her family.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy D. and Robin M. Davis of Mifflinburg, and Jody A. and Karen L. Davis of Millmont; two daughters and sons-in-law, Christine J. and Ned Mock of Millmont, and Mary Ellen and Roger A. Stroup of Millmont; her sister and best friend Mildred Heming of Pleasantville; 19 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, and 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the Christ Community Church, 2746 State 235, Millmont, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Rev. Richard VonNeida, officiating.

Burial will be in Old Cedars Cemetery, Swengel.
