Freeman E. Shemory, 83, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 12:10 a.m., Thursday, January 10, 2019, at his home.
He was born June 26, 1935, in Danville, a son of the late Charles and Maude (Long) Shemory. On August 6, 1954, in Centre County, he married the former Anita M. Benson, who preceded him in death March 26, 2013.
Freeman was employed at Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Lewisburg, for 26 years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney E. and Linda Shemory of Wilkes Barre, and Vinson P. and Rose Shemory of Mifflinburg; and two daughters and sons-in-law, Crystal C. and Richard Brosius of Winfield, and Dimond V. and Ronald Kolc of Wilkes Barre; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sons, Gerald M. Shemory, Freeman C. Shemory and Keith A. Shemory; one brother, Marlin Shemory; one sister, Virdilla Markel; three half-brothers, Lester Shemory, Raymond Shemory, and Wilbur Chappell; and one half-sister, Lottie Shemory.
Family and friends are welcome from noon to 1 p.m., Monday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 1, with David Swartzentruber, officiating.
Burial will be in Hartleton Cemetery.
