G. Franklin Boyer, 87, Mifflinburg

G. Franklin Boyer, 87, of 171 Shelly Lane, since 2004, formerly of State Route 304, entered into rest at 4:01 p.m., Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born March 4, 1925, in Limestone Township, a son of the late Guy E. and Erma K. (Maize) Boyer. On January 17, 1948, in the Hartleton Lutheran Church, he married the former Freida Wenrich, who survives.

He attended Mifflinburg High School.

Franklin was born and raised on the family farm on Route 304, Limestone Township, and continued the operation of the farm until he retired in 2000.

He was a member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, New Berlin, where he served as trustee for 6 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 64 years, are one son and daughter-in-law, Gary E. and Rhonda D. Boyer of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda M. and John R. Bowersox of Maryville, Missouri; 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Faith and Ty Brininger of Mifflinburg, Kip and Leslie Boyer of Lewisburg, Christine and Todd Jones of Hale, Missouri, Lynn and Linda Bowersox of Burlington, Texas, and Paula and Eric Nordby of Papillion, Nebraska; and 12 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, and from 10:30 to 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 326 Market St., New Berlin, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dawn Marie Meier and Rev. Alice Rauch-Dreese, officiating.

Burial will be in the New Berlin Cemetery.
