Gary Diehl

Gary S. Diehl, 75, of Weikert, entered into rest at 12:02 p.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Wellspan Evangelical Hospital, Lewisburg. 

He was born November 5, 1949 in Lewisburg, a son of the late Samuel A. and Shirley M. (Smith) Diehl. On January 25, 1969, he married the former Krysta K. Zimmerman, who survives. 

Gary was a 1968 graduate of Lewisburg High School. 

He served in the US Air Force 1969 until his honorable discharge in 1973.

Gary was employed at PPL as a heavy equipment mechanic until retirement. After retirement, he did various odd-jobs, but his favorite was farming. 

Gary enjoyed hunting, farming, fishing, spending time at the cabin, spending time with his family, and going to the West End Fair. 

He was a member of the Union County Sportsmen’s Club, Weikert, NRA, and Monument Camp. 

Surviving in addition to his wife of 55 years, two sons, Samuel W. Diehl of Millmont, and Nathan and Barbara Diehl of Millmont; three grandchildren, Patrick Crissman of Montgomery, and Andrew and Benjamin Diehl of Millmont; two sisters, Terry Diehl of Mifflinburg and Joy Diehl of Conway, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. 

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
