Gene "Jack" D. Guyer, 73, Mifflinburg

Gene "Jack" D. Guyer, 73, of 164 Rand Rd., since 1978, entered into rest at 5:43 a.m., Thursday, December 12, 2013, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born December 21, 1939, in Mifflinburg, a son of the late Renoda Zimmerman. On January 4, 1961, he married the former Shirley M. Snyder, who survives.

Jack was employed at Ritz-Craft, Mifflinburg, for many years, until he retired.

He enjoyed fishing with his many friends and family, spending time with his sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Jack was best known for his fun wit, joking personality, and caring, loving, and giving ways to his neighbors and family.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Gene, Jr. and Stephanie Guyer of Shamokin, and Bill and Melissa Guyer of Middleburg; four grandchildren, Brandi Harris of Trevorton, Nicole Schroyer of Trevorton, Lindsay Guyer of Northumberland, and Corey Guyer of Middleburg; five great grandchildren, Austin and Tricia Harris, Andrew and Lilleigh Schroyer, and Tristen Reigle; two sisters, Lois Roeby and Martha Kesman; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leroy Shetler, Harry Kline, and Warren Swartzlander; sister, Loretta Grove; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Lillian Snyder.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Jack will be conducted at 1 p.m., Sunday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, with Rev. Alice Rauch, officiating.
