Gene “Pip” D. Mabus, 64, of Lewisburg, entered into rest Friday, February 15, 2019, at home.
He was born October 26, 1954 in Centre County, a son of Shirley (Zerby) Mabus and the late Warren Mabus. On August 19, 1983, at the Halfway Dam Lookout, he married the former Elaine V. Fisher, who survives.
Pip was a 1972 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
He was employed as a diesel mechanic at Koch’s Trucking, Lewisburg for 19 years, and took great pride in his diesel mechanical skills.
Pip loved being outdoors, where he could be found hunting or woodworking. He enjoyed traveling with the love of his life, and together they enjoyed antiquing, gambling, and listening to county music.
Surviving is one brother, James; three brothers-in-law, George Fisher (Alene), Rich Fisher (Linda), and Grant Fisher; nephews and nieces, Gary Fisher (LeAnn), Anissa DeCapria-Sanduta (Lilian), and Jolene Schmidt (Shawn); and great nephews and nieces, Aadyn DeCapria, Mason Fisher, Caleb Listman, Ethan Fisher, and Olivia Sanduta, who brought much love and joy to her Uncle Pip.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Dixon.
Family and friends are welcome from 10:30 to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where a memorial service will be held at 11.
