Guy M. Aikey

Guy M. Aikey, 88, formerly of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 8:28 a.m., Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Emmanuel Center for Nursing, Danville.

He was born August 26, 1936, in Mifflinburg, a son of the late Aaron K. and Sabra A. (Catherman) Aikey. On August 2, 1954, he married the former Shirley M. Zimmerman, who preceded him in death August 4, 2021.

Guy attended Mifflinburg High School.

He was employed as a carpenter for Ralph Zimmerman Contracting, Mifflinburg, Beavertown Lumber Supply, C.A. Shipton, Mifflinburg, and John C. Shipton, Inc., Mifflinburg, until he retired in 1994.

Guy was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Troxelville.

He enjoyed stock car racing and fishing.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and John Shipton of Watsontown; one sister, Helen Sauers of Mifflinburg; five grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher and Melody Aikey, Jeremy Aikey, Amber Aikey, Renee and George Pick, and Paul and Melissa Shipton; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Aikey; four brothers, James Aikey, Gordon Aikey, Francis Aikey, Kenneth Aikey; and one sister, Bertha Napp. 

Services will be private.
