Hazel M. Schell, 93, Milton
Hazel Mae Schell, 93, of Kramm Healthcare Center, Milton, since January 24th, formerly of White Deer, entered into rest at 2:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
She was born August 13, 1917, in Mifflinburg, a daughter of the late George Calvin and Emma Jane (Pennycofe) Lohr. In 1941, she married Allen I. Schell, who preceded her in death July 31, 1944 while in action honorably serving during World War II.
Hazel attended Mifflinburg High School.
She was a lifelong member of the Forest Hill United Methodist Church, where she played the piano.
Hazel was employed at the Huntington Throwing Mill, Mifflinburg, Watsontown Silk Mill, and retired from Montgomery Mills.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking, cooking, playing the piano at her home, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need.
Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, John and Rachel Lohr of Mifflinburg; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lulu Hoffman of Millmont, Pauline and Guy Heckman of Milton, and Martha and Miles Delcamp of Mifflinburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Cloyd Lohr; and two sisters, Mary Smith and Miriam Hoffman.
Family and friends are welcome from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Friday, at the Forest Hill United Methodist Church, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. Daniel H. Hicks, officiating.
Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
