Helen L. Fischer, 90, formerly of Montandon, entered into rest at 10:24 a.m., Monday, May 20, 2024, at Watsontown Nursing and Rehab.
She was born September 13, 1933 in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Donald L. and Edna P. (Adams) Heiges.
Helen was a 1951 graduate of Montgomery High School.
She was employed as a cook at Bucknell University for 6 years, and at Goodwill’s for 12 years.
Helen enjoyed cooking, spending time with her grandchildren, and camping at World’s End State Park.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Angie Peterman, Jami and B.J. Peterman, and Billy and Michelle Fischer; one daughter, Penny Kurtz; one daughter-in-law, Patty Peterman; one sister, Mary Weber; 15 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Chester and Steven Peterman; four brothers, John “Jack”, George, Arthur, and Donald “Sonny” Heiges; son-in-law, Jeffrey Kurtz; one grandson, Cameron Peterman.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m., Sunday, June 23, 2024, at World’s End State Park, Playground Pavilion, 82 Cabin Bridge Rd, Forksville, PA 18616.
